Abstract:

Under normoxic conditions, enhanced glycolysis is one of the important characteristics of many tumors. This process is called aerobic glycolysis or Warburg effect, which is a necessary condition for virus replica⁃ tion and survival. Therefore, viral infection is very likely to enhance glycolysis Solution process. Tumor viruses induce aerobic glycolysis and lactic acid production during latent infection, suggesting that virus⁃induced glycolysis may play a key role in tumor ⁃ related progression. Viruses and virus ⁃encoded related proteins affect the glycolysis process by regulating glucose absorption and lactic acid metabolism, increasing glycolytic enzyme activity and regulating glucose metabolism signals. This article outlines the correlation between viral infections and glycolysis and specifically explains the changes in glycolysis caused by viral infections, with a view to finding new targets for antiviral therapy from glycolysis pathways.
