Investigation and analysis of job burnout and humanistic care demand of hospital staff

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of medical staff job burnout,as well as to understand medical staff physical and mental health status,in order to provide a foundation for hospitals to implement humanistic care and health care for medical staff. Methods A total of 350 medical staff members from a tertiary general hospital were interviewed using a self⁃completion basic situation questionnaire and the MBI⁃GS burnout scale. 342 questionnaires were effectively collected and statistically analyzed by the independent sample T test,one⁃way AN OVA,Pearson correlation analysis,multiple linear regression analsis and word frequency analysis. Results The score of emotional exhaustion in the three dimensions of job burnout was(2.003 ± 1.167),and the detection rates of mild,moderate,and severe were 82.16%,15.21% and 2.63%,respectively. The deindividuation score was(1.262 ± 1.085),The score of emotional exhaustion in the three dimensions of job burnout was(2.003 ± 1.167),and the detection rates of mild,moderate,and severe were 82.16%,15.21% and 2.63%,respectively. With the detection rates of mild,moderate and severe were 92.98%,5.56% and 1.46%,respectively. The score of low sense of personal achievement was(2.232 ± 1.366),and the detection rates of mild,moderate and severe were 55.85%,42.10% and 2.05%,respectively. The burnout scores of medical staff with different demographic charac⁃ teristics were significantly different(P < 0.05). Burnout was found to be significantly related to gender,age,marital status,education level,job position,working years,work pressure,and self⁃health status(P < 0.01). A linear relationship existed between gender,marital status,education level,job position,job pressure,physical health status,and job burnout. According to the results of a word frequency survey,medical staff have a high demand for humanistic care activities organized by hospitals. Conclusion Medical personnel experience varying degrees of job burnout. Health workers who are at high risk of burnout require extra care. Take reasonable measures to reduce the occurrence of job burnout in light of the factors influencing the occurrence of job burnout. We will create a hu⁃ manistic care and health care support system for medical staff in order to promote their physical and mental health increase their health literacy,and better serve patients.
