Research advances of ALBI grade for liver function assessment and prognosis stratification

Abstract:

The major tool for liver function assessment and prognosis stratification for patients with hepato⁃ cellular carcinoma is Child⁃Pugh score. Nevertheless,the accuracy of the Child⁃Pugh score on this topic is limited by its disadvantages. With the aim to provide better clinical evidence and benefits,the review article summarized the ability of the albumin⁃bilirubin(ALBI)grade in evaluating the efficacy and predicting the prognosis of various treatments for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)as well as the advantages and disadvantages of ALBI classification. In addition,ALBI grade⁃based prognostic models for HCC were also reviewed.
