Abstract:

Objective To compare the diagnostic value of computer aided diagnosis(CAD)system,TI⁃RADS classification and ultrasound scoring in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules. Methods Retro⁃ spective analysis was performed in 672 thyroid nodules confirmed by surgery and fine needle aspiration pathology. The ROC curve was constructed with pathological results as the gold standard, and the diagnostic value of CAD system,TI ⁃RADS classification and ultrasound scoring method for benign and malignant thyroid nodules was compared. Results The area under the ROC curve of thyroid nodules diagnosed by CAD system,TI⁃RADS classi⁃ fication and ultrasound scoring method was 0.889,0.848 and 0.844,respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, posi⁃ tive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of CAD system were all higher than those of TI⁃RADS classification and ultrasound scoring method(P < 0.05). Conclusion CAD system is an objective, accurate and rapid evaluation method, which is beneficial to improving the diagnostic efficiency of thyroid nodule, and is worthy of promotion.
