Abstract:

Environmental fine particulate matter(PM2.5),an air pollutant,is one of the major prevent⁃ able threats to public health. It is a globally recognized substance with adverse effects on human health and has become a huge problem for global public health. In recent years, the problem of air pollution had become increas⁃ ingly serious. A number of studies have showed that air pollutants exert adverse effects on human health, including damage to the heart, lungs, testicles and other multifunctional organs. Studies also showed that PM is a risk factor for male semen quality deterioration. As a kind of atmospheric pollutants,PM2.5 affects male sperm quality genes, chromosomes and hormones. It was gradually explored by researchers and they began to explore PM2.5 on male reproductive system function and mechanism of injury. However, its mechanism is not fully clear. This paper summarized the research progress about the damage of PM2.5 to male reproduction system in recent years.
