Abstract:

Objective To explore the expression of PYCR1 gene in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and its relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods Expression levels of PYCR1 mRNA and protein in HCC and adjacent tissues from 80 patients were detected by qRT⁃PCR and Western blot. Cox proportional hazards model was used to analyze the prognostic factors of HCC patients. Kaplan⁃Meier method and the log⁃rank test were used to analyze the prognosis. Results Relative expressions of PYCR1 mRNA and protein in HCC group were higher than that in adjacent tissue group(P < 0.05 for both comparisons). Expression of PYCR1 was correlated with tumor size, satellite lesions, vascular invasion and TNM stage(P < 0.05 for all comparisons). PYCR1 expres⁃ sion level was an independent factor for affecting 5⁃year overall survival rate and disease⁃free survival rate in HCC patients(P < 0.05 for both comparisons). The 5⁃year overall survival rate and disease⁃free survival rate in patients with low expression of PYCR1 in HCC tissues were greater than those in patients with high expression of PYCR1 (P < 0.05 for both comparisons). Conclusions PYCR1 is highly expressed in HCC tissues, which is related with tumor size, satellite lesions, vascular invasion, and TNM stage. Expression of PYCR1 is closely related with the
