Abstract:

Intraspinal analgesia is recommended for labor analgesia, which has advantages of extending epidural analgesia for intrapartum cesarean section. However,it has many problems in clinical practice, such as epidural catheter migration, failure to conversion of epidural labor analgesia and the inability to perform epidural anesthesia due to obstetric emergency. How to provide safe and effective anesthetic management for parturient and infant has become a common concern of obstetrician, anesthesiologist and patients. In response to these issues, the review summarizes the anesthetic management of conversion of epidural labor analgesia to intrapartum cesarean sec⁃ tion anesthesia.
