Abstract:

The increasing incidences of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)lead to the preva⁃ lence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),which needs its early diagnosis and management by the doctors both in primary care and endocrinology. As T2DM and cardiovascular disease are extrahepatically concomitant, the treatment of NAFLD involves intervention of life style, management of body weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid as well as prevention of hepatic cirrhosis. This papers is to interpret the key points of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Clinical Practice Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Primary Care and Endocrinology Clinical Settings Co⁃sponsored by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases so as to make some evidence ⁃based suggestions on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment strategy for adult and children NAFLD patients.
