Molecular network characteristics of three main subtypes of HIV among MSM in Shenzhen

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the molecular network characteristics of three major subtypes among HIV positive men who have sex with men(MSM)in Shenzhen in order to provide clues for controlling the transmis⁃ sion of HIV. Methods Data and blood samples were collected from newly reported MSM who infected with HIV in Shenzhen from 2017 to 2019. Subtype analysis was performed by online tools and Mega software. Pairwise genetic distances were calculated by HyPhy. Molecular network visualization was constructed by Cytoscape,and statistical data analysis was used by SPSS software. Result A total of 2 848 genetic sequences of pol region of HIV were obtained from newly reported HIV positive MSM and successfully classified into 11 subtypes,of which three major subtypes including CRF07_BC,CRF01_AE,CRF55_01B accounted for 91.22%. The overall access rate of the three main subtypes was 32.32%,forming 194 clusters and 1291 edges. Entering the molecular network,MSM infected with HIV were mainly under 35 years old,Han nationality,unmarried,from other provinces or foreign countries commercial service,no sexual history,201 ~ 500 CD4+ T cells/μL,MSM infected with CRF01_AE mainly concen⁃ trated in high school or technical secondary school,MSM infected with CRF07_BC mainly concentrated in junior col⁃ lege or above,and MSM infected with CRF55_01B mainly concentrated in junior high school or below. MSM infected with CRF01_AE,the access rate of the group of CD4 counts with 201⁃500 cells/μL was the highest. MSM infected with CRF07_BC were prone to forming large clusters. MSM infected by CRF55_01B had the highest access rate in junior high school and primary school. Conclusion MSM infected with CRF01_AE,the transmission risk of CD4+ T cells was highest in the range of 201 ~ 500 /μL,and the transmission risk was higher in CRF07_BC clusters. MSM infected with CRF55_01B,the transmission risk was highest in junior high schools and primary schools.
