Abstract: Objective To investigate the behavioral characteristics of emergency patients in departments of neurology at the peak of epidemic ,Covid ⁃19. Methods Comparisons were made between the emergency patients in the department of neurology of our hospital in 2020 and those in 2018 and 2019 in terms of gender, age and main symptoms. Then the patients in 2020 were evaluated for post⁃traumatic stress disorder(PTSD). Results In 2020,the proportion of female patients in the epidemic peak was significantly decreased ,with statistically significant difference(= 0.003). There was significant difference in the proportion of patients with acute stroke and somatization(< 0.001). There was no significant difference in the incidence of PTSD among different gender, age and symptom classification(= 0.388,0.909 and 0.224,respectively). Conclusion At the peak of Covid⁃19,the number of women and patients with somatization symptoms was relatively reduced. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the women and patients with somatization symptoms for their health the subsequent epidemics.
