Progress in limb salvage surgery for primary malignant bone tumors around the knee joint

Abstract:

The incidence of primary malignant bone tumors around the knee joint is increasing yearly. As cancer is increasing in younger age groups and with the progress of comprehensive treatment,the current treatment goal should not only improve the 5⁃year survival rate of patients,but also preserve good lower limb function,and surgical methods are one of the crucial factors affecting the prognosis of lower limb function. This article systemati⁃cally reviews the relevant literature,briefly describes the effect of surgical methods on the functional prognosis of primary malignant bone tumors around the knee joint,and aimed to provide comprehensive comments on the current treatments and prospects of this malignant bone tumor.
