Abstract:

Objective To study the early miscarriage rate of in vitro fertilization in infertile patients with endometriosis(EMs). Methods Pregnancy outcomes of 198 infertile patients with EMs and 179 infertility patients with tubal problems treated with IVF or ICSI in our hospital from January 2016 to March 2021 were retro⁃ spectively investigated. Results The early miscarriage rate of natural pregnancy in the endometriosis group was significantly higher than that in the control group(25.60% vs. 14.55%,P < 0.05). After IVF or ICSI,the fertiliza⁃ tion rate and high⁃quality embryo rate in the endometriosis group were significantly lower than those in the control group,respectively(69.22% vs. 79.53%;51.91% vs. 59.19%,P < 0.05). The early miscarriage rate after the im⁃ plantation of fresh or frozen embryos in the EMS patients was significantly higher than that in the control group respectively(24.39% vs. 7.14%,21.31% vs. 4.69%,P < 0.05). Conclusion The fertilization rate and high⁃quality embryo rate are lower and the early miscarriage rate is higher in the EMS patients, indicating that endometriosis may lead to infertility by impairing the embryo quality and other factors.
