Airway remodeling is a complex irreversible progressive structural change，and there are many factors affecting airway remodeling. IL⁃17A is one of the risk factors for airway remodeling. IL⁃17A is a cytokine secreted by Th17 cells with pro⁃inflammatory and pro⁃fibrotic functions. Autophagy defects exist in airway remodeling characterized by airway fibrosis，and the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway is involved in autophagy regulation. Therefore，the paper discusses the research progress of IL⁃17A in airway remodeling from the aspects of airway inflammation，airway epithelial mesenchymal transformation，airway structural cells and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.
