The Rome Ⅲ criteria has been updated to 2016 Rome Ⅳ，in which the definition of functional dyspepsia（FD）and irritable bowel syndrome（IBS）has been revised and the diagnosis of and illness overlap between the diseases has changed. So in this paper，based on Roman Ⅳ criteria and literature review，we attempt to sort out and summarize the studies on the overlap between FD and IBS between 2016 and 2020，so as to provide reference for better understanding the present situation of overlap between FD and IBS.
