Alcoholic liver disease is one type of liver disorders caused by chronic heavy alcoholic drinking. It appears as fatty liver in the early stage，and then may develop fibrosis，cirrhosis，or even liver cancer. Recent⁃ ly，research on metabolomics for ALD has achieved some progress，applying to the studies on biomarkers and pathogenesis of ALD. In this paper，the research progress of metabolomics in ALD was reviewed to aim at providing reference for the prevention and treatment of it.
