Abstract:

Atrial fibrillation is a common arrhythmia in clinic, and its main hazard is stroke. At present, long⁃term oral anticoagulants are needed to prevent stroke in patients with medium and high risk of nonvalvular atri⁃al fibrillation. But relevant research data show that the medication therapy is ineffective or subject to contraindica⁃tions in nearly half of patients with atrial fibrillation. In recent years, the development of left atrial appendage clo⁃sure has effectively solved such problems. However, the residual leakage around the occluder after left atrial ap⁃pendage closure is controversial in clinical practice. This paper reviews the clinical research progress of residualleakage around the occluder after left atrial appendage closure.
